The Coconut is used for a wide variety of things eg for drinking (the water) and for eating (the meat) but also for the making of Sugar Cakes, Coconut Milk, Coconut Oil, and Soaps etc. However, the shell and inner core of the Coconut in most cases is thrown away or used as firewood for cooking. In some cases the fibre is used in beds, pillows etc. The Craft-House of St.Kitts in the West Indies, has however initiated ways in which the utilization of this raw material could be put to better use.
